It's been more than 1 week that I've prepared myself to announce this.. and now the time has come.

Dear all, we are proud to present you the vinyl version of one of the most expected release of 2011; COSMOGON.

It's a great pleasure for us to release the 1rst ever LP of UNFOLD since the band joined the forces of Evil and brought to our ears what is now considered as the main reference in heavy riffs from Schweiz!!

As always behind all visual works of the band, Fabian Sbarro has again spoiled us with a great artwork.
The piece will be presented in a beautiful Picture Disc with a 350gr printed insert, the whole object limited to only 250 pieces handnumbered!

We will be presenting them for the first time at the Swiss Edition of the INFERNO FESTIVAL where they will be dooming along side with Meshuggah, 1349, our good friends from Kruger and many more.

To finish correcly this year and to totaly destroy what is left of your eardrums after walls of riffs from the Uncles of heavyness DIRGE, thermo nuclear blasts from LOST SPHERE PROJECT and the tortured sludgy new release from swiss super heros from UNFOLD, we present you HALF THE SKY from the other grind terrorists from our roster YOG.

Formed back in early 2000, YOG are THE grind-hardcore combo from Neuch√¢tel (Switzerland). Mostly influenced by bands like Sick of it All, Disrupt and Napalm Death in the early days, their sound has then turned into a more deranged mixture, after a brainwash by the Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, Pig Destroyer, Converge and other extreme combos of the modern hardcore scene.

Extreme virulence, sick blast beats, mentally ill math-grind, YOG is for the Swiss scene what the panzer was for battlefields: a pure war machine.
After the release of their savage 1st album entitled YEARS OF NOWHERE, the Swiss bastards have destroyed a lot of stages across Europe with bands like Today is the Day, Genghis Tron, Gojira, Knut, Burnt By the Sun‚...!

Keeping the will to dive beyond the fury and velocity limits, the band has just given birth to a new monster, HALF THE SKY.
Recorded by Jérôme Pellegrini at studio du Terrier and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side studio YOG's new album is proudly going to make a lot of ears bleed to death.
This time the band have pushed the boundaries ways further. Of course, technicality, velocity and extreme aggression are still parts of the game, but on HALF THE SKY the band develops a new hysterico-melodic approach completely unseen so far. Back to a more rough sound, the one which forged the band's identity on their first two eps, HALF THE SKY is nothing less than a war machine fueled by psychotic math-grind and virulent hardcore punk.

RORCAL - IBERIC DOOM TOUR 2011

RORCAL are hitting the road again!

To celebrate their new collaborative release with SOLAR FLARE (solo doom project from the bass player of Impure Wilhelmina), both bands will touring in France, Spain & Portugal.

Words from the band:
"For this work, we locked ourselves for 3 days in a humid basement (our practice room actually) to write and record a collaborative track sounding as heavy as it could be with 2 basses, 3 guitars, and supported by drums and vocals from the Mordor.

As concept and guideline, we found inspiration in the poem “La Ronde sous la Cloche”, taken from the book “Gaspard de la Nuit” and written by the french poet Aloysius Bertrand. Although the legend says that this book was probably written by the devil himself… His text drags you into a world between nightmare, hallucination and darkness which we tried to reproduce musicaly.
The release will be presented in a handmade digifile CDr format limited to 200 handnumbered copies and will feature tracks from SOLAR FLARE and the collaborative song. We’ll be releasing it by our own through CALOFROR Records and it will be available through our webstore."

We were expecting this moment for a while now! The day we would be able to announce the new release of the kings of Swiss heaviness, UNFOLD.
After years of absence, the band is back with a gigantic new masterpiece named COSMOGON.
Following his unique path of tortured dementia, the band delivers an ultimate 6 tracks of epic intensity, a burst of pure sludgy hardcore combined with perfect melodies and walls of massive aggression.
Expect COSMOGON (cd version) for the end of september, and praise the lord.

P.S. If you don’t know what to do until the release of this next master piece, just take some time to dive into their two first albums. Of course Pure was already a fucking piece of art, rough, brutal, paroxysmal. But Aeon/Aony was the one which changed the game. Recorded by Julien Fehlmann, mixed in Sweden by Pelle Henricsson and Magnus Lindberg, this album is still the ultimate point of comparison for all the productions made in Switzerland.
Rich and heavy at a point that no one can even imagine, Unfold has reached the highest level of his art with this second full-length. Massive and hypnotic, this music does not forget to be melodic as well.
It has been built to resist time, so that 8 years after its release, it is still fresh and young.

UNFOLD RETURNS

One member of the Holy Swiss Trinity is back from the dead. No, it can’t be the Father, as the mighty Knut is alive and well. And no, it can’t be the Holy Spirit, as Nostromo is dead and buried for good. No, the only one who had a chance to come back was the Son, and so he is arriving, resurrected directly from the kingdom of Lucifer; UNFOLD is his sacred name.

Formed back in 1995, the band spent some years building its proper style in a mix of incredible metal heaviness and massive hardcore slowness, this all twisted by a deep sense of how melodies are supposed to sounds in hell. They soon became a European reference in the field of tortured and emotional hardcore (later known and popularized under the label ‘post-hardcore’). They were better, louder and crazier than a whole bunch of bands, back then. But sadly enough, after two gigantic albums, Pure (2000) followed by Aeon/Aony (2003) and a lot of destructive live performances, the band decided to close the chapter in 2004. Too bad. The mourning was hard, as no one would ever take their place in our hearts.

But forget it all now, the mourning is over, as the Holy Son walks among us again! And He is not just back, he brings with him a brand new album to be released in cd/lp this fall.
Skull crushing avant-garde metal, oppressive but distinctive, heavy but smart. The new songs might cut your head off. Without notice.

Stay tuned and celebrate the return of the godfathers of heaviness. Hail Satan.

Born in 2006 in Geneva, Rorcal is delivering a slow and disturbing doomcore. After having released their first demo in 2007, they’ve collaborated with the Swiss act Kehlvin for the record of a 30 minutes song, Ascension, including the whole ten musicians. Then they’ve released Monochrome, their video/musical concept, an album which prove their incessant need to experiment with a lot of ingredients. Their first full-length album, Myrra, Mordvynn, Marayaa, was a pure fucking Armageddon, black, noisy, crushing, slow and gloomy. After more than 50 shows across Europe, they’re now releasing their new masterpiece, Heliogabalus. There’s no need to say that Rorcal is one of the most promising band in Switzerland. Get ready, you’ll be blown away.
